The Role:

A Health Coach is responsible for growing and managing a caseload of clients by providing absolute top-notch customer service including education, training, guidance, information, accountability, and encouragement in order to equip them to make healthy lifestyle choices. You go above and beyond to see your clients thrive and your love your clients more than your career because its' ALL about loving and serving people.

Pay & Hours:

  • $19-50/hour depending on training & experience

  • Bonuses: We work hard to serve our members, but know we can only do that if we invest in our employees professionally, financially, physically, socially, and spiritually. We purposefully invest in our employees so that our employees can invest in others. Employees are eligible to receive annual incentive pay based on individual and organizational performance.

  • Position starts as part-time and will grow to full-time (Full time at Live Nourished is ~30 hours/week)

  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule in order to maintain member contacts by telephone or web-based/portal

Training and Certification:

  • Bachelors degree minimum (required)

  • Certified Health & Wellness coach by an accredited program

  • FMCA Certified (preferred)

  • National Board Certified (NBHWC preferred)

  • At least 1-year coaching experience (preferred)

  • Prefer a candidate with a background that includes practical experience, education and training in preventive health care and disease reversal.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conducts Functional Medicine intake with new clients using the Functional Medicine Matrix and Time Line

  • Plans and facilitates individualized health and wellness plans for assigned clients through coaching & ongoing support

  • Maintains assigned caseload of participants in individual or group coaching and keeps detailed records of interactions.

  • Demonstrates appropriate coaching technique, knowledge of functional medicine, scope of practice, positive psychology, etiquette, content, verbal and/or written communication, and duration

  • Formulates, affects, and interprets the client's program in a manner that best suits the member; which can vary by member schedule, habits, behaviors and motivation levels

  • Makes determinations with autonomy on when and how a client will complete our program and determine if and when the fee will be removed upon completion.

  • May be required to develop content and resources to meet Member needs including creating resources, exercise routines, recipes, etc. Also may need to create materials related to your certifications

  • Engages members by creating group posts or challenges on health and wellness topics

  • Encourages re-engagement through top quality client service

  • Fulfills administrative duties including maintaining a member-facing schedule, following up with members who miss appointments, organizing and reviewing records (i.e. goals and metrics), and communicating with clients.

  • Motivates clients toward appropriate activity goals based on assessment of their age, ability, and fitness level, with a focus on injury prevention

  • Provides sound, research-based information to participants to enable them to make healthy lifestyle choices, administers questionnaires to identify health risk, determines readiness to change, and indicates the likelihood of successful program adherence

  • Makes participant referrals when needs or questions lie outside of the scope of the Coach's role, credentials, knowledge, or training

  • Continues informal or formal education for your own personal and professional development

  • Strives toward mastery in at least one area of knowledge related to healthy living—e.g. exercise, nutrition, gut health, hormone health, diabetes prevention, weight loss...

  • Strives to model and maintain a healthy lifestyle for yourself and encourages others to do the same

  • Maintains regular communication with manager and team to ensure that information conveyed to clients is consistent with current health-related research

  • Attends all required organization meetings and participates fully and earnestly

  • All other duties as assigned
